PhD Opportunities in European Employment Relations
We welcome expressions of interest from potential PhD students with an interest in our research area.

We are happy to support suitable applications for a tax-free Research Ireland PhD scholarship, previously the Irish Research Council.
The scholarship has a value of €34,000 per year.
This year's call will open in August/September 2026 with a deadline in early October 2026.
The 4-year award will commence on 1 September 2027.
Self-funded PhD students can apply for a partial tax-free PhD Scholarship from UCD Smurfit Business School, which amounts to €2,000 per annum for 4 years.

In addition, self-funded PhD students can claim a tax relief for tuition fees.
Candidates are strongly encouraged to have secured full funding for the duration of their studies (4 years minimum) prior to commencement. A guide to estimated costs is available here and here.
